How does stress affect our health?

Stressed out? Overwhelmed? Many of us are and it really can take a toll. Stress occurs when the demands in our lives far outweigh our resources to cope. The best way to reduce stress is to either decrease the demands in our lives and/or increase our resources for coping. Stress in the short term is perfectly healthy but chronic stress, stress that lasts for months or even years, can and will take its toll on our physical and emotional health.
